Six months into the pandemic and we are all living our “new” normal. As physical therapists and healthcare providers, we have been expanding to adjust to our new normal as well. At Blue Sky, our outpatient clinics have been continuing to provide services to our patients and communities, but we have also expanded our therapy service lines to meet our patient’s needs.

We recognize the daily challenges that the pandemic has brought our patients and have created two innovative home-based service models to develop your customized treatment plans that best meet your needs, goals, and situation. Much like remote working and having your groceries delivered, virtual teletherapy and in-home therapy are the “new normal” ways to receive your physical therapy treatment!

Teletherapy

Our teletherapy patients receive the same 1:1 interaction with our licensed therapists virtually as they do in our clinic. Teletherapy allows our therapists to deliver high quality, convenient care to our patients and help them stay engaged with their treatment plans all while being in the comfort of your own home.

The patient works one-on-one with the physical therapist without additional distractions. Patients can also involve family members or caregivers in the appointments if they want to do so. There is no training required for patients to take part in teletherapy even if they have not been seen in the clinic previously. The patient will need an email address and access to a computer or device that has a video camera and microphone.

In-Home Therapy

The best way to explain in-home therapy is to describe it as “outpatient therapy in-the-home.” In-home therapy brings the quality and expertise of Blue Sky Therapy to your front door. Many patients struggle with transportation or simply want to receive therapy in their home because that is where they are most comfortable. Our therapists are able to determine the specific needs of the patient and help them achieve their highest levels of function all while in their home.
